Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum - Cleveland, Ohio

Rocking It Out with History. America is a land of many things.  Numerous cultures have come to these shores, blending together to form the fabric of what we, today, call America.  While there are numerous ways in which that cultural blending is represented and showcased, none show it quite so well as the music of America.  Rock and Roll is one of those iconic music types that is instantly identifiable, no matter what era the music was made in.  Everyone has their own favorite rockers and bands; however, the true mark of greatness in the rock industry is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock and Roll hall of Fame and Museum stands in Ohio and offers fans the chance to get up close and personal with some of their favorite music, as well as rock and roll memorabilia from days past.  What can you find at the Hall of Fame?  There are numerous exhibits, many of which change on a regular basis.  For instance, currently, Mike McCartney's Liverpool Life, Take Me Out: Baseball Rocks!  the 2008 Inductee Exhibit, HELP!  Behind the Scenes of the Beatles' Movie, the Doors and Rick Nelson exhibits are highlighted.  However, as mentioned, the exhibits change throughout the year, providing all fans with the chance to enjoy rock and roll history.

Upcoming exhibits include Cleveland Rocks: the Birthplace of Rock and Roll, WMMS: A Cleveland Legend Turns 40 and Sparkle and Twang: Marty Stuart's American Musical Odyssey.  Even more exhibits are planned for the future, though the Hall has not released any additional details.  There are also permanent exhibits in the Hall of Fame, as well as the Museum portion of the edifice. Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Janis Joplin and The Who are all featured exhibits.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum regularly inducts new members to the ranks of greatness.  For instance, 2008 saw the induction of John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, Madonna, the Dave Clark Five and the Ventures. 2007 saw the induction of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Patti Smith, the Ronettes and Van Halen.  Percy Sledge, Black Sabbath, Bob Seger, George Harrison, the Pretenders, U2 and the Police are just a few of the hundreds of incredible acts that grace this amazing place.

If you love music, rock and roll, specifically, then there is no better place to rock out in the US. A visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum can be the highlight of any vacation.
