4×4 Off Road Monster Truck Jamboree – Lima, Ohio
The Annual O-Rielly Auto Parts Spring 4 Wheel Jamboree Nationals is held at the Allen County Fairgrounds where there will be more than 2,000 4 wheel drive vehicles from all over the United States and Canada for the powerhouse off-road weekend that you certainly won’t want to miss!
This is a family event geared toward the truck enthusiast. Participants come to show their tucks off and compete in the racing events and the show.
Enjoy everything 4-wheel from monster trucks, tough truck racing, mud racing, show trucks and more. You will see the latest in gear, the most unique trucks and some of the messy mud races that will have you glad you are in the stands rather than getting really dirty on the track!
If you are an adrenaline junkie then you will really enjoy these events. The Monster Trucks fight and claw for dominance in their classes, prize money and point standings.
In the evening there are festivals including bands, dancing and meeting other enthusiasts. It is almost like a reunion of those that follow the events across the country and those that are only able to come to Lima (pronounced Lime-ah).
An aerial view of this event would surely look like an atom. With its nucleus the 160 foot long race-track: built-up with dirt ramps, obstacles, and jumps in an off-road style. On the most outer ring, circles home-made 4×4’s, patient drivers with their vehicles stuffed with friends drinking beer in the bed of their trucks. They’re mostly young local folks that have been coming to Lima every year since before they could drive. Trucks of all shapes and sizes, some impressively intimidating, circle all day to show-off and mingle with each other.
There are three separate groupings among the vehicle types during the event. The smaller 4×4’s are called Tough Trucks (registered trademark), and they are standard sized trucks, mostly Ford and Chevrolet that have been tweaked to the extreme to handle amazing jumps and landings.
The other classes of 4×4’s are the Monster Truck Drags that are out-of-this world in size. One of the Monster’s, called BIGFOOT is built from a 2007 F-250 Ford with a 565 Cubic Inch Ford engine, it boasts horsepower of 1800, weighs 10,000 pounds and is 12 feet tall.
It is a great way to spend a weekend, making new friends and visiting with old ones.
